LaVoya “V” Woods

Senior DEI Consultant | Trauma-informed specialist

LaVoya “V” Woods (ve/ver) is a Black, Genderqueer, neuro-expansive healer born and raised in Queens, NY and currently rooted in Durham, North Carolina. V is a trauma social worker, racial healing scholar, Air Force veteran and community educator dedicated to sharing the skills ve has cultivated in over 20 years of impactful, diverse work in education, community organizing, western psychology, somatic practices, and Afro-indigenous healing.

Racial healing is a liberation practice. V aims to co-create and curate interventions and psychological methodologies to support folks liberating themselves from the negative impacts of systemic and intergenerational trauma. Ver work centers the needs of those most socially, economically, and psychologically vulnerable. V has a Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and is a former licensed trauma and family therapist, behavioral health coach, eco-teacher, certified reiki healer, yogi and trained meditation guide.

As the Senior DEI Consultant/Trauma-Informed Specialist at Co-Creating Inclusion, LaVoya guides the evolution of CCI's methodology and approach through the lens of trauma-informed therapeutic healing. V leads the team's exploration of innovative healing principles to transform and transmute individual as well as systemic trauma in order to help ourselves and our clients move towards ancestral healing and collective trauma liberation.

In addition to supporting clients through coaching, ve also supports our DEI consultant team in developing strategies to mitigate re-traumatization, encourage recovery, process emotional impact and build personal and group capacity and safety.
